Now let's look at
John 1:1-14
(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(2) The same was in the beginning with God.
G3056 λόγος logos log'-os
From G3004; something said (including the thought); by implication a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive; by extension a computation; specifically (with the article in John) the Divine Expression (that is, Christ): - account, cause, communication, X concerning, doctrine, fame, X have to do, intent, matter, mouth, preaching, question, reason, + reckon, remove, say (-ing), shew, X speaker, speech, talk, thing, + none of these things move me, tidings, treatise, utterance, word, work.
G3004 λέγω legō leg'-o
A primary verb; properly to “lay” forth, that is, (figuratively) relate (in words [usually of systematic or set discourse; whereas G2036 and G5346 generally refer to an individual expression or speech respectively; while G4483 is properly to break silence merely, and G2980 means an extended or random harangue]); by implication to mean: - ask, bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, say (-ing, on), shew, speak, tell, utter.
This is the Hebrew word for an utterance or spoken word. Notice Genesis 1:6.
H559 אָמַר 'âmar aw-mar'
A primitive root; to say (used with great latitude): - answer, appoint, avouch, bid, boast self, call, certify, challenge, charge, + (at the, give) command (ment), commune, consider, declare, demand, X desire, determine, X expressly, X indeed, X intend, name, X plainly, promise, publish, report, require, say, speak (against, of), X still, X suppose, talk, tell, term, X that is, X think, use [speech], utter, X verily, X yet.
This is God speaking His word to create things!
John is simply saying, In the beginning of time as we know it; God spoke words, and the words were from God and the words were the Holy Spirit essence of God's Power!
The reason the KJV scholars capitalized the word Word, is because God spoke into the womb of Mary His only begotten son who became known as the Word, a reference to Christ. It is actually misleading to assume it is referring to a literal person in John 1:1. It is not until verse 14 that the word is referring to a literal physical human being.
(3) All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
(4) In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(5) And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
(6) There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
(7) The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
(8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
(9) That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.
(10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
G1096 γίνομαι ginomai ghin'-om-ahee
A prolonged and middle form of a primary verb; to cause to be (“gen” -erate), that is, (reflexively) to become (come into being), used with great latitude (literally, figuratively, intensively, etc.): - arise be assembled, be (come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, be done, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought.
Look at the Greek; the world "made him". The world saw him but most did not believe.
Haven't you heard the term "they made us" when someone is discovered?
(11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
(12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
(13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (This is a Greek word for begotten) G1080 γεννάω gennaō ghen-nah'-o
From a variation of G1085; to procreate (properly of the father, but by extension of the mother); figuratively to regenerate: - bear, beget, be born, bring forth, conceive, be delivered of, gender, make, spring.
(14) And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
This verse is saying that God has by the word of His power begotten a son, into the womb of a physical host, (Mary) speaking into existence the embryo that will become Jesus Christ!
Luke 1:35
(35) And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
It is the same Holy Spirit power that said, "let there be light". God said, "let there be an embryo in the womb of Mary" and the power of God's word overshadowed her in brilliance!
It is a logical explanation for the begotten process for the spiritual that is mirrored by the physical.
