How To Prepare

How can you know you are preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ? Is is finding the right church? Is it keeping Holy Days and Laws given to ancient Israel? Is it keeping the 7th Day as your Sabbath? These are important for us to consider and observe. But there is a spiritual application to consider.

The answer is none of the above. There is no condemnation to us who are in Christ Jesus. What qualifies you to be able to say you are one with Jesus? Because you live not for the flesh, but by the Spirit within you!  There is a Law of the Spirit that is living with Jesus as your Master and that frees you from the laws of sin and death.

God created His own Son, Jesus in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh. This is how the righteousness of the Law of the Spirit is fulfilled in us who live not after the flesh, but the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus.

It is obvious that people who are not spiritual, with decisions for their daily living, care only about the here and now and what pleasure can be gained in this flesh. Therefore, you can know you are preparing for Jesus' return if you have His Spirit indwelling you and influencing your everyday thinking. We have the promise of life with the Spirit of Jesus and the Spirit of the Father also indwells us.

John 14:23-25
(23)  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
(24)  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
(25)  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

It is through the Spirit of the Father and Jesus that bears influence upon our human spirit telling us we are the children of God. We as fleshly creatures then can expect to be delivered from this body of sin tendencies at the Judgment Day and be changed into Spiritually Born literal children of God!

The apostle Paul states this very plain in the book of Romans.

Romans 8:23
(23)  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves

groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

God looks at our inner thoughts each day and knows the mind of our spirit. This is how God knows our heart and how much we love and follow the ways of Jesus. Jesus left us much to work on in His sermon on the Mount of Olives. Matthew chapters 5,6, & 7.

God will render to every man according to how he thinks and acts. We are saved by grace when we repent of what we are not doing in accordance with the will of God. The choice is ours alone.
